The Ministry of Music, through its adult, children’s, and youth choirs is an integral part of the worship and discipleship ministry of First United Methodist Church. Every Sunday worshipers get to enjoy music played on the largest pipe organ in San Diego County. The ministry also sponsors the popular Cultural Events Music Series, community concerts and guest performances by nationally recognized artists and groups.

Adult choirs
The Chancel Choir
A great opportunity to learn quality, sacred choral music from the past masters as well as music hot off the press. Musical performances presented during Sunday morning worship services.
Weekly rehearsals: Thursdays, 7–9 PM, and Sundays, 8:15–9 AM
The Contemporary Singers
Learn sacred choral music from a variety of contemporary styles. Musical performances are presented approximately once per month during the Sunday morning worship services.
Weekly rehearsals: Tuesdays, 6:30–7:20 PM.
Children’s and Youth choirs
Carol Choir
Grades Kindergarten–3
This ensemble's musical offerings are presented approximately once a month during the 9:30 and 11 AM Sunday morning worship services, and on special occasions such as the Christmas Eve Pageant, Palm Sunday, Mother's Day, and the spring musical.
Weekly rehearsals September—May on Sundays, 8:45–9:20 AM in the Children's Choir Room.
Altar Choir
Grades 4–7
This ensemble's musical offerings are presented approximately once a month during the 9:30 and 11 AM Sunday morning worship services, and on special occasions such as the Christmas Eve Pageant, Palm Sunday, Mother's Day, and the spring musical.
Weekly rehearsals September–May on Sundays, 10:15–11 AM in the Children's Choir Room.
Youth: Chapel Choir
Grades 8–college
This ensemble's musical offerings are presented approximately once a month during the 9:30 and 11 AM Sunday morning worship services, and on special occasions such as the Christmas Eve Pageant, Palm Sunday, Mother's Day, and the spring musical.
Weekly Rehearsals: Sundays from 11:15 AM–12 PM
