The Loaves & Fishes food ministry is a partnership between United Methodist congregations in San Diego, to help meet the needs of hungry people in our community.

Reach out in service to a child, parent, or family at monthly family dinners and events, or help a child in the "Everyone a Reader" program.
On the second Saturday of the month, First Church joins in collaboration with St. Paul's Episcopal Cathedral in hosting "The Shower of Blessing's Breakfast" for the homeless of Balboa Park.
For two weeks a year, several of our rooms become ‘home, for 12-15 guests who are working towards finding permanent housing. Volunteers bring meals and spend the night with the guests.
This ministry provides new shoes to disadvantaged elementary school students in the San Diego area. Shoe shoppers and distributors are needed.
Join us for fellowship and good hard work around the church. We do handyman jobs and take a break for lunch and fellowship. All help is welcome!
