Where you can learn about Jesus, meet new friends and be yourself...
Grades 6–12
We meet every week, either in smaller groups within our own age-groups or in larger gatherings, outings and fun events. We learn about God and ourselves as we try to find out what it means to become disciples of Jesus Christ. For more information, contact Richard Annett, Director of Students Ministries.

Small Groups
(middle and High school)
Church is not a place, name, building, program, or pastor. It is the people. God created us to be in community. Because relationships are so important to God and to us, we make sure to take time for them. Our small groups exist to deepen our relationships with one another and with God.
"Zoe" (Life) middle school small group

"Zoe" means "life from God" in Greek. This "life" is one to be experienced with others and our small group does that. Middle school boys and girls share have an opportunity to share the highs and lows of life together. We hang out, eat, and talk about the highs and lows.
"arche" (beginning) high school Small Group

"Arche" means "beginning" in Greek so let's begin your week off right. This is an opportunity for high school guys and girls to start their crazy week off on a good foundation. We hang out, eat, and talk about life together.

Serve with Students 1st
Serving the community is an important part of our Christian tradition. At First Church middle school and high school students have an opportunity to serve those who are in need of food. Every 5th Sunday we partake in the Loaves and Fishes ministry at Wesley UMC. Students do not just deliver the food to Wesley UMC, they also help handing the food out. Come join us every 5th Sunday at 2 PM on the east side of Linder Hall to help us serve our community.
Become an Acolyte
Grades 5 - 11
Acolytes assist in sanctuary worship services year-round. They lead the choir processional, light the altar candles, receive the offering, assist in baptisms, extinguish the altar candles, and assist at special services wherever needed. Acolytes learn leadership and cooperation skills as well as symbolism in our worship services.
Candidates fifth through eleventh grades are welcome. A new acolyte schedule begins in September of each year. For further information, please contact Jojo Paule, Acolyte Coordinator 619-948-6526
