Parent Involvement

We greatly value our parents at Children's Growing Center

Parental involvement in a child’s educational process is both a gift to the child and to the school.

The gift of parental involvement is strongly encouraged and highly valued at the Children’s Growing Center and doing so creates a strong community environment.

Each family in our program is required to serve on a minimum of one fundraising committee during the course of the year and participate in CGC events.

How to get involved with CGC

Here are some example of how you can lend a hand as a volunteer:

  • Room parent
  • Ryan Bros Coffee fundraiser
  • Halloween committee
  • Teacher Appreciation committee
  • Spring Sing committee
  • CGC Family Camp committee
  • See’s Candies fundraisers
  • Scholastic Book fundraiser
  • CGC Advisory Council

Become a Room Parent!

Each class has two room parents. These parents support the teacher with fundraiser reminders, classroom parties, fieldtrips, costumes for our children’s programs, Spring Sing team baskets, teacher appreciation, etc. They look to the teacher to let them know where their services are needed. There are two meetings a year for room parents.

CGC Advisory Council

CGC has an advisory council consisting of parents selected by the director of children's ministries of FUMCSD and the CGC director. The intent of the board is to provide guidance, counsel, and support for issues regarding the staff, school, and families of CGC. There are four meetings a year (each quarter).
