Brenda has been the Director of Church and Community work at First Church since June 2002. She oversees and directs all the local missions of the church and is the staff representative on the Global Missions board.
A native of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Brenda was raised in the Summit Chapel United Methodist Church in Wesley Chapel, PA. At age ten, she had a powerful experience while at Church camp and made a promise to always serve wherever God would lead her to serve.
Brenda attended San Diego State University as an English and Women’s Studies double major with a minor in Religious Studies while raising her three children. After completing her BA in 2002 she completed a Master’s certificate in Faith Based Community Outreach through the San Diego State College of Extended Studies in 2004.
Her passion is in serving and advocating for people living in poverty in our local communities, especially with the most underserved populations.
Most of all she enjoys spending as much time as possible with her two adult sons and daughter. She enjoys exercising, going to movies, and reading.
