Originally from San Diego, Jan considers her arrival to First Church as a return home in many ways.
Professionally, Jan worked as an executive in quick food service concepts including Cinnabon, Jamba Juice, and Pinkberry, specializing in operations, supporting stores both while working in the field and from the support center. Time spent building restaurant concepts have given Jan a wealth of experience in construction, process, finances, people, and project management. Jan applies more than 30 years of business experience to her role as Executive Director, balancing business with the world of faith in church administration.
Jan and her husband David have been married since 1987, having met while attending college at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, where Jan completed a Bachelor's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Jan and David have an adult daughter, Holly, and have over time adopted a pack of dogs - six, to be exact.
The role of Executive Director at First Church has been described as a "perfect fit" by Jan, who appreciates the opportunity to serve the people of San Diego in faith, joy, and love.
