You're invited to join Pastor Jessica for a book study on New York Times bestselling book, "Becoming Nicole: The Inspiring Story of Transgender Actor-Activist Nicole Maines and Her Extraordinary Family." We will gather for this 4-week discussion group via Zoom, and talk through the book at a high level for the first half of each meeting. In the second half of each gathering we will consider the implications this story has for us as a reconciling church, and our call to welcome, affirm, and support the families among us, in addition to those whom we are called to serve and celebrate in the neighborhoods where we live.
This book study and discussion are for you if you seek to grow personally and as a church in welcoming and affirming our LGBTQIA+ siblings with the love of Christ. We will seek to build a safe space together. As one means of doing this, please plan to have your Zoom video on, so we can see as well as hear one another during our discussions.
Please obtain the book ahead of the start of the class, and read chapters 1-11. The book is available on Kindle, audiobook, or hard copy.
